South-West Track and Field Championships |
![]() The date for the 2022 Championships is now Sunday 24th July, at the Exeter Arena. The Entries website is now open, at This Site. For more information about the Championships, Visit this Page. |
South-West Indoor T&F Championships |
![]() The South-West has many great features: historic buildings, glorious scenery, impressive beaches, etc. --- but no 200m Indoor Track. In recent seasons, Welsh Athletics Ltd. has kindly agreed to incorporate the SW Indoor Championships in their events at the National Indoor Athletics Arena in Cardiff (when Covid restrictions allowed). Note: the South-West medals were awarded by comparing performances of those who declared themselves as eligible for South-West competition. The organisers cannot simply look at club names (e.g. an athlete may have recently moved to the South-West and have not yet established a residential qualification) 2021 - 22 Indoor season:
In view of the Covid restrictions, it was not possible to hold any South-West Championships in the Winter season 2020-2021. Results from previous seasons can be found at the Results Archive. |
South-West Cross-Country Championships |
The 2022-2023 South-West Individual, Inter-Club and Inter-County Cross-Country Championships
will be held (all being well) at RNAS Merryfield on Sunday January 8th 2023.
|
South-West Road Running Championships |
The South-West Inter-Counties Road Race competition will not be held in 2021. The last possibility for even a single-event contest (the Glastonbury 10km on Sunday 19th September) proved to clash with too many other events (including the Great Bristol 10km and Great Bristol Half Marathon) to attract enough County teams to make it worthwhile. |
South-West Road Relays Championships |
The 2021 event, scheduled for Sunday August 29th at Cleeve (between Bristol and Weston Super Mare) again, has been called off because of actual and potential Covid issues.
|
Regional and Area Championships |
Please Note: Entry in a South-West Championships (a Regional Championship) in any discipline does not prevent an athlete taking part in Midland or Southern Championships events (which are Area Championships). Athletes or teams from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire may opt either for Midland Counties AA or South of England AA competitions, but may not compete in both in the same competition year. |
