These organisations have "Avon" in their title although they are not
connected with the Avon Athletic Association:
The Avon Schools
Athletic Association: although there is close co-operation
between the two organisations, they operate independently.
-
-
The Avon
Track and Field League: this league in 2023 will probably have six teams.
Member teams do not need to be Avon-based. It has
never been linked with the Avon AA: it simply has a different
function within the sport.

-
- "Team Avon" in the YDL Upper Age Groups competition is a composite
team drawn from the following clubs: Bristol & West AC, Mendip AC,
Team Bath AC, and Yate and District AC. It is not
a team organised or financed by the Avon AA.
-
-
Avon and Somerset Police -- one of several public
bodies which still recognise the former County.

- "Avon Ladies"

Avon Athletics. It's actually about sport in general in
schools in a part of Ohio. They take a very strict attitude on Drugs and Alcohol issues, with tests for all at the start of
each season and random tests thereafter
(see
Their Drug-Testing Policy Statement).
On another page of their website, they state that "If during the school year, and while a member
of a school team or squad, the student participates on an organized team engaged in the same sport, he/she shall be
ineligible for any further participation in that sport for the remainder of the season. In addition, athletes
who are members of a school team or squad are strongly encouraged NOT to compete
on independent teams (different sports) while their season is in progress". This would seem to make the typical
young-athlete function of a British club virtually impossible.
