Tri-Counties XC Championships

2024 - 2025 Tri-County Cross-Country Championships
 

The 2024-25 Season Tri-Counties Championships will be held on Sunday 8th December 2024, at Bath University, in conjunction with a Gloucester XC League fixture.

..... In view of the forecast high winds, a decision will be made on Saturday whether the event can go ahead safely.

Meeting Notes:

  1. The first three Somerset or Avon finishers in each race (U13 and upwards) will (subject to response within reasonable time) receive automatic selection for the Avon & Somerset team for the UK CAU Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships (Date and venue still to be announced).

    Note that athletes born between 1st September and 31st December 2005 will be eligible for the Under-20 races at the Tri-Counties, South-West, Area and National Championships but not for the Junior races at the UK CAU. They are however eligible for selection for the Senior race at the UK CAU Championships.

    Masters Men in the M65 or older age groups may take part in the "Short" or "Long" races. Women may only take part in the "Short" race. Men M65 or older unable currently to cover 10km in under 60 minutes (or equivalent) are respectfully requested to enter the "Short" race.

  2. Please note that:
    •  
    • Birth/Residence in the South Gloucestershire Council area is a qualifying condition for Avon but not Gloucestershire
    •  
    • Birth/Residence in the BANES Council area is a qualifying condition for Avon but not Somerset
    •  
    • Birth/Residence in the North Somerset Council area is a qualifying condition for Avon but not Somerset

  3. Avon AA: Masters athletes are only eligible for the medal appropriate to their actual age group, unless they contact the Secretary before the event notifying him that they wish to contest the Senior event instead.
