UKA Coaching Awards: Assistant Coach


UKA Assistant Coach Award
 
To be eligible? Age 18 or over and -- er, that's it. You're welcome even if you've never competed in the sport. You will need to go through a DBS check before qualifying.
 
To qualify? The Coaching Assistant award has been relaunched as a blended course, made up of:

  • Four Virtual Classroom Modules
  • A 75-minute in-person or virtual classroom session
  • Remote feedback from a coach developer of a supervised session

Who Should Go On This Course?
"Anyone aged 18 or over, who is interested in taking the first step into a coaching pathway and wants to understand the fundamental technical principles of coaching.

"You will learn The technical coaching knowledge to underpin running, jumping and throwing activities. You’ll then learn how to apply these principles into a number of fun and exciting practical examples".
 
The dates for the Classroom session (in-person or virtual) include:
  • Sun. 21st April, Swindon
  • Tue. 23rd April, Virtual
  • Sat. 11th May, Crypt School, Gloucester
  • Tue. 14th May, Virtual
  • Wed. 12th June, Virtual
  • Sun. 14th July, Taunton
  • Tue. 14th JUly, Virtual

It is anticipated that the above elements should be completed within 4-6 weeks of you starting the qualification, and as such, a Coach Developer will be assigned to provide feedback on your filmed activity during this period. If you are unable to complete all aspects within the suggested timeframe, please contact The Coach Education Team.
 
The Cost? Cost: £265; England Athletics affiliated club member cost: £205. You may be eligible for Avon AA support towards the cost.

The Application Form? Applications for theses courses can now only be made on-line: at the EA Website. ACT QUICKLY: some of these courses fill up fast, others get cancelled because they think no-one wants them. Applications normally close about ten days before the course date.
