English Schools T&F Championships 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic has meant that the 2021 English Schools T&F Championships needs to be held in a non-traditional form. Inevitably, the number of athletes taking part (from Avon and other counties) will be much reduced.

The position for athletes at schools in Avon (as at May 17th) is:

  • The English Schools Track and Field Championships will (hopefully) go ahead in a different format this year, with one day allocated to each age group (Seniors Friday 9th July, Intermediates Saturday 10th, Juniors Sunday 11th). A maximum of 16 athletes will be invited for each event by the English Schools, based on County Nominations and Power of 10 Rankings. If you are in the top 25 on the Power of 10, or have achieved (or are close to) the ESAA Entry Standards, and would like to be nominated by Avon Schools, please contact Jim Strudwick stating your preferred event, date of birth and school, by Saturday 19th June.

An athlete may be nominated for two events, but will only be able to be selected for one at Manchester. Please notify Jim of your preferred event.

Athletes attending Somerset Schools should consult the Somerset Schools AA Website for the relevant information.

Please note that the Avon AA has no involvement with the nomination process, and that the County Schools AAs do not decide which athletes are eventually invited to the ESAA events.
